Toyota Forklift Attachments - In the U.S., Toyota Materials Handling inc., or TMHU, has been the top selling lift truck dealer since 1992. Proudly celebrating more than 40 years of service, the Irvine, California established company provides an extensive line of quality lift trucks. Attributable to their history of excellence, reliability, and sturdiness, Toyota remains popular in this competitive market. Quality is the foundation of Toyota's legendary Toyota Production System practiced at all manufacturing facilities, including TIEM, which is stands for Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, located in Columbus, Indiana. The majority of the Toyota lift trucks sold in the U.S. are manufactured here.

Every one of Toyota's manufacturing plants within Canada and the United States comply with the International Organization for Standardization or ISO 14001 standard. The Columbus TIEM plant has been honored on many occasions for its dedication to continual improvement and its environmentally friendly systems. It is the first and only producer to offer EPA and CARB-certified Compressed Natural Gas powered lift trucks on the market. To illustrate, the Toyota 8-Series IC lift vehicles emit 70% less smog forming emissions than the existing federal EPA standards and have complied with California's strict emission standards and regulations.

TMHU, U.S.A.- Leading the Industry

The president of Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Brett Wood believes that TMHU's achievement comes from its commitment to construct high quality lift trucks while providing exceptional client assistance and service. "We must be able to learn and predict the needs of our customers," said Brett Wood. "As a leader, our success also depends on our ability to address our customers' operational, safety and environmental cost issues." TMHU's parent company, Toyota Industries Corporation, also known as TICO, is listed in Fortune Magazine as the world's largest lift truck dealer and is among the magazines celebrated World's Most Admired Companies.

New Meaning to Environmental Responsibility

Toyota Industries Corporation, as the parent company, has instilled a rich company doctrine of environmental stewardship in Toyota. Not a lot of other organizations and no other lift truck producer can meet Toyota's record of caring for the natural environment while simultaneously encouraging the economy. Environmental accountability is a key aspect of company decision making at Toyota and they are proud to be the first and only maker to provide UL-listed, EPA- and CARB-certified Compressed Natural Gas powered lift vehicles. Yet an added reason they remain a leader within the industry.

In 2006, Toyota released the 8-Series line. The 8-Series signifies both Toyota's innovation and leadership in the industry. It features an exclusive emission system that surpasses Federal EPA emission values, and also meets California's more intricate 2010 emission standards. The finished creation is a lift truck that creates 70% fewer smog forming emissions than the current Federal standards allow.

Moreover in 2006, Toyota established a relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation, furthering their obligation to the environment. Greater than 57,000 trees have been planted in regional parks and national forests damaged by environmental causes such as fires, as a product of this relationship. 10,500 seedlings have also been distributed through Toyota Industrial Equipment's network of sellers to non-profit organizations and neighborhood customers to help sustain communities all over the U.S.

Industry Leader in Safety

Toyota's lift vehicles provide improved efficiency, visibility, ergonomics and durability, and most importantly, the industry's leading safety technology. The company's System of Active Stability, also known as "SAS", helps decrease the chance of accidents and accidental injuries, and increasing productivity levels while minimizing the potential for product and equipment breakage.

System Active Stability senses numerous factors that may lead to lateral insecurity and likely lateral overturn. When any of those factors are detected, SAS instantly engages the Swing Lock Cylinder to steady the rear axle. This changes the lift truck's stability trajectory from triangular in shape to rectangular, providing a major increase in stability which substantially reduces the likelihood of an accident from a lateral overturn. The Active Mast Function Controller or the Active Control Rear Stabilizer also helps to avoid injuries or accidents while adding strength.

SAS was initially released to the market on the 7-Series internal combustion products in 1999 and subsequently catapulted Toyota into the industry leader for safety. Since then, SAS continues to be built-in to most of Toyota's internal combustion models. It is standard equipment on the new 8-Series. There are more than 100,000 SAS-equipped lift vehicles in operation, exceeding 450 million hours combined. The increased population of SAS-equipped vehicles in the field, along with mandatory worker training, overturn fatalities across all models have decreased by 13.6% since 1999. Furthermore, there have been an overall 35.5% fall in industry wide collisions, loss of control, falls and overturn from a lift vehicle for the same period.

Toyota's hardnosed values continue far beyond the technology itself. The company believes in offering widespread Operator Safety Training services to help customers meet and exceed OSHA standard 1910.178. Instruction programs, videos and assorted resources, covering a wide scope of subjects-from personal safety, to OSHA rules, to surface and cargo situations, are available through the seller network.

Toyota's U.S. Dedication

Toyota has sustained a continuous existence in the United States ever since its first sale. In 2009, Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, produced its 350,000th lift truck. This reality is demonstrated by the statistic that 99% of Toyota lift trucks bought in America now are built in the United States.

TMHU is situated in Columbus Indiana and houses nearly 1 million square feet of production facilities over 126 acres of land. Facilities include a National Customer Center, as well as production operations and distribution centers for equipment and service components, with the total investment exceeding $113 million dollars.

The contemporary NCC was built to serve TMHU buyers and sellers. The facility includes a 360-degree display room, a presentation theater complete with stadium seating for 32, an section for live merchandise demonstrations with seating capability for 120; a presentation theater; Toyota's Hall of Fame showcasing Toyota's history since the birth of its founder, Sakichi Toyoda, in 1867, and lastly a training center.
